Ending A Tenancy

Giving Notice

The residential tenancy agreement can be terminated:

If intending to vacate the property at the end of the fixed term, then 60 days written notice prior to the expiry of the lease agreement must be given.

Please note that each tenant on the lease agreement must sign the vacating notice.  If mailing the notice, 4 clear days for postage must be allowed. If it is needed to vacate the property prior to the lease expiry, please contact your Property Manager immediately to discuss.

Return of Keys

All keys must be returned to MGS Properties on the vacating day, before the close of business. Keys must not be left in the property, as the tenant will remain responsible for the property until the keys are handed to a staff member. Any lost keys are to be replaced at the tenant’s own expense.

Final Inspection

The final inspection will be carried out as soon as possible after vacating the property. It is strongly recommended that the tenant makes a time with the Property Manager to attend the final inspection together.

References

References are only provided to tenants who have remained in advance with their rental payments and have kept the property in good condition. A written reference can be provided once the final inspection has been carried out and approved.
